Advantages

As a business on Facebook, it can be difficult to garner organic traffic to your page and posts. As a result, the most obvious advantage is that Facebook will put your post in front of more people’s timelines, increasing the chances of it being seen by someone qualified and interested. You also have the ability to target the post towards certain types of people, and it’s ultimately very simple to boost any post you want on your page.

 

Disadvantages

Although boosting a post does offer some targeting options, there’s not as many as the Facebook Ads Manager offers. As a result, you may end up spending money boosting a post that won’t get in front of the right people, especially if you’re trying to fill a more specialized position.
